Dirty York is hardly what you'd normally expect from an independent Australian band… standing alone with a breed of music not common to the shores of down under. The Melbourne quintet are strictly dedicated to creating, performing and producing timeless compositions with the honesty that good rock 'n' roll desperately requires. With an even spread of talent within, they have developed a work ethic that is widely regarded as relentless… oozing with that authentic blue collar Australian grit. They have carved out their own legacy finding overwhelming support from an insightful league of rock purists and goodtime punters further a field.

2009 saw the release of Dirty York's debut album 'Waiting on St George' and only one year later they released their follow up album, the inspiring 'Say Goodbye to Diamonds'. The two albums received international airplay and were welcomed with smashing reviews by both fans and critics at home and abroad. Dirty York  draw on diverse contemporary influences while remaining true to those old school southern rock and blues aesthetics that have withstood the test of time. These albums have the lot - from foot to the floor fist pumping anthems to some more soothing and heartfelt ballads… and absolutely not one bit of filler.
Dirty York have also developed a formidable reputation from delivering show after show of hi-octane energy along with a never say die attitude, showcasing their unique brand of hook-laden blues rock. They are currently working on their third album due for release late 2012.
Dirty York have shared the stage with some of Australia's best bands/artists like Dallas Crane, Tim Rogers, Rocket Science, Wagons, The Vasco Era,  Que Paso and Chris Wilson. They’ve also played alongside some of the worlds biggest & best international bands like The Bellray's, Greg Allman, Primus, Clutch, Black Country Communion, Kyuss, Cheap Trick, Paul Weller, Band of Horses, Ozzy Ozbourne and many more.
After a powerful performance at Spain’s Azkena Rock Festival 2011, Dirty York will return for a European tour in April/May 2012.
